Learn how to create a sculpture inspired by Henry Moore! Explore shape and form and the creation of sculptures at this exciting workshop.
Moore is best known for his semi-abstract monumental bronze sculptures which are located around the world as public works of art. His forms are usually abstractions of the human figure, typically depicting mother-and-child or reclining figures. His forms are generally pierced or contain hollow spaces. Many interpreters liken the undulating form of his reclining figures to the landscape and hills of his birthplace, Yorkshire England.
Family Saturday takes place on the last Saturday of each month with an art project suitable for little kids and big kids alike, at a minimal cost to participants. The workshop starts promptly at 1 p.m each month with instruction and a project demonstration. Parents are encouraged to participate and create their own piece of art as well. Families are welcome to stay the entire session from 1 p.m to 3:30 p.m, or leave earlier.
