VPAG members play a crucial role in our sustainability and hold great value to the organization. Not only does a Gallery membership provide great benefits, it also shows local politicians and funders that you support the initiatives of the Vernon Public Art Gallery.
We offer 5 levels of membership at the VPAG: Student: $10, Individual: $31.50, Family: $42, Corporate: $75 and The Club: $100 (tax included). Memberships are valid for 12 months from time of purchase. Each VPAG membership comes with a membership card, and welcome package.
VPAG Member Benefits:
Corporate membership packages include 5 corporate membership cards so that you and 4 employees receive the benefits mentioned above. The Club gives its members access to an even larger reciprocal program! The North American Reciprocal Membership Program (NARM) is one of the largest reciprocal membership programs in the world. With your VPAG ‘The Club’ membership card you receive the membership benefits above, as well as the opportunity to visit 892 museums, art galleries, and historic sites from across North America with free admission and/or discounts. Some examples of the fine institutions included in NARM are the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, the Walt Disney Family Museum, the Museum of Art and Design, and the Norman Rockwell Museum as well as our closer to home options of the Kelowna Art Gallery, the Kamloops Art Gallery, the Two Rivers Art Gallery and the Royal British Columbia Museum. The Vernon Public Art Gallery would not exist without the help of our Volunteers. The Gallery was originally founded by volunteers and still to this day, we rely on the generosity of volunteers for their time and expertise. Our volunteers assist with the daily operations in the Gallery, they help organize events and fundraisers, and our Board of Directors and Facility Steering Committee are active business and community volunteers.

With over 50 volunteer guests from over 10 not-for-profit organizations, the second annual community wide Volunteer Appreciation Event was a great success. Vernon Councillor and GVRD Chairperson Patrick Nicol spoke to the audience on the importance of volunteerism and how it shapes our community in a very positive way. Thank you goes out to Investors Group for presenting a cheque to the Greater Vernon Volunteer Bureau, as a means to continue to show appreciation and give recognition to Vernon’s volunteers. Plus, The Fig Catering provided a scrumptious treat for our guests. Let’s continue to make this event bigger and better each year. See you during National Volunteer Week in 2014.

Monetary donations play an important role in the operations of the Gallery, which assist with the expenses not covered by government grants. Charitable tax donation receipt will be issued for your cash donation. Cash contributions can also be directed to our endowment fund by request. Cash donors have the option to remain anonymous or be recognized in the VPAG Annual Report.
The Gallery also accepts in-kind donations of items from our Wish List. These items include: flooring (continue removing carpet & refinish concrete), specialty lighting fixtures, transition floor covers for extension cords, art supplies for VPAG Art Education hands-on activities, display shelving and stands for the Gallery Shop, seating area furniture, lateral filing cabinet.
Every July, the Vernon Public Art Gallery holds an annual benefit event Midsummer’s Eve of the Arts (MEA), featuring a live and silent auction of original artwork and specialty packages. Participating artists and businesses donate items to the auction and all or part proceeds from the sales go directly to the Gallery supporting ongoing exhibitions and programming. Donating to MEA is another avenue of which you can help support the Vernon Public Art Gallery.
Sponsoring an exhibition helps the Gallery to maintain professional standards and bring the highest calibre of exhibitions possible to Vernon. Sponsorship allows the Gallery to pay artist exhibition fees set by CARFAC (Canadian Artists Representation/Le Front Des Artistes Canadians) to the artists exhibiting in the Topham Brown Memorial Gallery and the Caroline Galbraith Gallery. Sponsorship dollars also allow us to produce quality publications for each of our exhibitions. Supporting the arts helps to increase sponsors’ visibility in the community and enhance their corporate or business image.
