Curious Reflections

Mackie Lake House Artist in Residence November 8 – December 19, 2018

Jolene Mackie, Stories, 2018, oil and gold leaf on canvas, 24 x 24 in

Jolene Mackie was selected to be the Artist in Residence 2018 program at the historic Mackie Lake House. We are pleased to host a solo exhibition Curious Reflections created by the artist during her residency at the Mackie Lake House, a historic 1910 heritage house on Okanagan Lake in Coldstream, BC. Her prolific studio practice and focus on the settings and interior of the heritage house allowed her to assemble a visually rich exhibition. The images will allow the viewers to glimpse into the current state of the house and its surroundings and contemplate its historical significance in Vernon. The Artist in Residence Program is a collaborative partnership between Mackie Lake House Foundation and Vernon Public Art Gallery since 2012. The artwork produced during residency will be exhibited at the Vernon Public Art Gallery in a solo exhibition.

The Opening Reception will take place on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and Jolene will give an Artist Talk at the Vernon Public Art Gallery on Saturday October 13, 2018.
