Launched in 2009, the Okanagan Print Triennial (OPT) is an open juried print exhibition based on the international model for such projects established over the last forty years.
In the spirit of acknowledging and celebrating the vitality and variety of approaches and techniques in contemporary work in printmaking, the OPT aims to bring the very best in current printmaking practice to audiences in the Okanagan region of British Columbia.
The OPT is a collaborative project of the Vernon Public Art Gallery, the Kelowna Art Gallery, and the University of British Columbia Okanagan. The juried group exhibition alternates between the Kelowna and Vernon galleries, with the winner of each show being given a solo show at the alternate gallery concurrently with that year’s OPT show.
The exhibition dates of the OPT 2015 at the Vernon Public Art Gallery are March 19 to May 21.
The solo show for OPT 2012’s exhibition prize winner is Mitch Mitchell: History of a First Failed Industry (working title), and will run at the Kelowna Art Gallery April 11 to June 28, 2015. Visit Okanagan Print Triennial website for more information.
Opening Reception: March 19th, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
