The Vernon Public Art Gallery presents the 9th Annual Riot on the Roof! On Saturday, August 26, 2017, from 7 p.m to 11 p.m, the Downtown Vernon Parkade will be transformed into an alternative art party, with live music, performance and installation art, dance, and much more!
Planning for the 9th annual Riot on the Roof is well underway, and we can’t wait to show you the talent that has come forward. This year’s event will be showcasing: a dance performance by Jaime Kerr, who won the Dance World Cup in 2016, comedians Kyle Patan and Andrew Verge, folk-hip-hop duo Birds of Cray, as well as a captivating drumming performance by Zac Gauthier, who is famous for his trash can drumming, and many others. In addition to performers, we also have some fantastic visual artists, such as Samantha Sharisse, Noah Macleod, Emerald Holt, and students from the Centre for Arts and Technology in Kelowna who will be displaying their art, doing live paintings, and interactive displays! We will also be partnering with the Downtown Vernon Association again for the Painted Bench Program, where we choose one artist to paint one of the wooden benches on 30th St! Don’t worry about dinner, because there will be food vendors and drinks available!
Riot on the Roof brings together a variety of artists in one unique venue for one awesome night. Each level hosts an array of talent, showcasing art in all its forms. For more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
