This year, the Vernon Public Art Gallery is celebrating a decade of Riot on the Roof. Riot on the Roof was created to fill a need in our community; we needed to create an event that provided accessible cultural experiences to the public, as well as provide a venue for emerging and established artists to perform and exhibit. On Saturday, August 25, 2018, from 7 p.m to 11 p.m, the Downtown Vernon Parkade will be transformed into an alternative art party, with live music, performance and installation art, dance, and much more!
Planning for the 10th annual Riot on the Roof is well underway with an incredible line up of artists to showcase. Hosting will be comedian Matt Baker. Visual art will include work by Matt Glen, and students and professors from UBC Okanagan’s faculty of Creative and Critical Studies; poet Skylah Ginette will be showcasing her newly published book; and Kelowna-native indie artist Andrew Judah will be performing. Other artists include Squids, Cody Rueger, Kailee McGuire, Randy Jerni, Kin Folk, The Poetry Elf, Knupunk, Thomas McIsaac, Ginger Snapp, Heidi Smith, and many more. Don’t worry about dinner, because there will be food vendors and drinks available!
Riot on the Roof brings together a variety of artists in one unique venue for one awesome night. Each level hosts an array of talent, showcasing art in all its forms. For more information please contact email@example.com
